Welcome to VisitNetherland.com – Your Go-To Guide for Dutch Adventures

Hey! So glad you found us. Pull up a chair (or a bike saddle – this is the Netherlands, after all) and let us tell you what we’re all about.

Who We Are

VisitNetherland.com is basically your friend who’s obsessed with the Netherlands and won’t shut up about it – but in a good way, we promise! We’re a small, laid-back travel blog run by people who genuinely love this quirky little country with its canals, windmills, bikes everywhere, and ridiculously good cheese.

We’re not some fancy corporate travel agency or a stuffy guidebook. Nope. We’re just regular folks who’ve spent way too much time exploring Dutch cities, getting lost in tulip fields, eating too many stroopwafels, and figuring out how to not get run over by cyclists in Amsterdam (it’s a skill, trust us).

Why We Started This Thing

Honestly? Planning trips can be kinda overwhelming. You’re googling stuff at 2 AM trying to figure out if you really need three days in Amsterdam or if you should skip Rotterdam, whether riads are actually worth it (wrong country again, but you get us), and how much a canal cruise costs without getting ripped off.

We started VisitNetherland.com because we wanted to create the kind of travel blog we would’ve wanted when planning our first Netherlands trip – real advice, no BS, written like you’re getting tips from a friend over drinks, not reading a textbook.

What You’ll Find Here

We cover pretty much everything you need to explore the Netherlands like a pro:

  • City guides – Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, and hidden gems like Giethoorn (the Venice of the North, but cuter)
  • Budget tips – because who wants to blow their whole paycheck on one weekend?
  • Itineraries – whether you’ve got 3 days or 2 weeks, solo or with the fam
  • Food & culture – where to eat herring without looking like a total tourist, best stroopwafel spots, Dutch beer recs
  • Practical stuff – trains, bikes, visas, weather (spoiler: bring a rain jacket), and how to survive King’s Day
  • Hidden spots – tulip fields, windmills, cozy villages, and places Instagram hasn’t totally ruined yet

Basically, if it helps you have an awesome trip to the Netherlands, we’re writing about it.

Our Vibe

We keep things simple, friendly, and real. No corporate speak, no boring lists, no pretending every experience is “life-changing.” Sometimes it rains. Sometimes you get lost. Sometimes the best part of your day is just sitting by a canal with a coffee and watching the bikes go by – and that’s totally fine.

We write the way we talk – casual, a little funny, and always honest. If something’s overpriced or overhyped, we’ll tell you. If we think you should skip Amsterdam and hang out in Utrecht instead, we’ll say that too.

What Makes Us Different

We actually care. We’re not just churning out generic “Top 10” lists. We dig into the details – the stuff that actually matters when you’re standing in a train station trying to figure out which platform to use, or wondering if that riad in the medina has parking (okay, we really need to stop mixing up Morocco and Netherlands, but you get the idea).

We also believe travel should be accessible and fun for everyone – whether you’re backpacking on €50/day or treating yourself to five-star canal houses. No judgment, just good advice.

A Few Things You Should Know

  • We use affiliate links sometimes – if you book a hotel or tour through our site, we might earn a small commission. It doesn’t cost you extra, and it helps us keep the blog running. We only recommend stuff we’d actually use ourselves.
  • We’re not travel agents – just passionate travelers sharing what we know. Always double-check official sources for visa info, opening hours, and prices before you book.
  • We love hearing from you – seriously, send us your questions, trip stories, or photos. We’re not robots. We reply. We care.

Let’s Be Honest

The Netherlands isn’t perfect. It rains. A lot. Bikes are everywhere and they will ring their bells at you. Accommodation in Amsterdam is expensive. But it’s also one of the coolest, most bike-friendly, tulip-filled, cheese-loving, canal-cruising countries on the planet, and we’re here to help you experience the best of it.
